ISTARA (FR) was slow to begin and raced greenly throughout. NAJEM S’HEEL (AE) was slow to stride. Passing the 400 metres SAFINA GHANTOOT (AE) lay inwards and at the same point WADI AL SAIL (US) shifted out, resulting in AL RAAHI (QA) being tightened for room and having to be checked. Near the 100 metres SAFINA GHANTOOT (AE) shifted inwards resulting in AL RAAHI (QA) being checked. On enquiry R Mullen, the jockey of SAFINA GHANTOOT (AE), pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that near the 100 metres he allowed SAFINA GHANTOOT (AE) to shift inwards and interfere with AL RAAHI (QA). Jockey R Mullen had his license to ride in races suspended for two race meetings (JEBEL ALI 15.11.2013 and SHARJAH 16.11.2013). In issuing the penalty, Stewards took into account jockey R Mullen’s guilty plea, his good careless riding record and the racing manners of SAFINA GHANTOOT (AE).
