KANDAR DU FALGAS (FR) (R Hills) was crowded on jumping between JINAD (AE) (R Ffrench) and BADAD (FR) (J Rosales). RAKED (FR) (W Smith) was crowded shortly after the start between FRYNCHMAN (US) (J Doyle) and JARNIN (FR) (C Sanchez), which drifted inwards away from FRYSK ME NOW (FR) (P Cosgrave). Approaching the 1500m, when JINAD (AE) was being eased, the horse over-reacted and got its head up and raced keenly for a short distance. Leaving the 900m, KANDAR DU FALGAS (FR) and BADAD (FR) raced tight and bumped. Leaving the 500m, BAROLO (US) (R Mullen) was momentarily crowded when the tiring JARNIN (FR) drifted inwards. OMAYYADE THABET (FR) (H Bentley) raced wide throughout.

Leaving the 600m, COVERT DESIRE (GB) (A Murgia) shifted outwards around the heels of SOUL OF A NATION (USA) (G Faucon) and in doing so bumped HADBA (IRE) (R Ffrench) outwards on to the heels of EARTH TOUR (GB) (P Cosgrave), resulting in HADBA (IRE) clipping heels and blundering. On enquiry, Apprentice A Murgia (COVERT DESIRE [GB]) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 4 days (Abu Dhabi 18th, Meydan 23rd, Jebel Ali 30th and Meydan 31st December 2011). Leaving the 300m, IBN SINA (IRE) (R Mullen) was restrained when racing between MADAWI (GB) (T Durcan) and SOUL OF A NATION (USA). On enquiry, it was established that MADAWI (GB) had shifted inwards at this point of the race crowding IBN SINA (IRE) inwards, and that SOUL OF A NATION (USA) had then angled outwards around FREEHAND (USA) (W Smith), which accentuated the tightening to IBN SINA (IRE), ultimately resulting in IBN SINA (IRE) having to be restrained and lose its position. Whilst it was established that the initial crowding to IBN SINA (IRE) was due to the shift inwards from MADAWI (GB), the Stewards acknowledged that there was also a shift outwards from SOUL OF A NATION (USA) and therefore the Stewards could not hold any one rider fully culpable for the incident. SOUL OF A NATION (USA) returned having shifted its left front shoe.

FINAL RECOVERY (GB) (J Doyle) and RED EYES (GB) (D Smith) bumped on jumping and shortly after the start; FINAL RECOVERY (GB), RED EYES (GB) and SAUDI SUMMER (KSA) (R Mullen) were crowded when FITYAAN (GB) (T O’Shea) ran outwards away from IZAAJ (USA) (X Ziani), which had jumped outwards. MUTUAL FORCE (USA) (R Ffrench) raced keenly in the early and middle stages. MASAALEK (GB) (A Murgia) was impeded for clear running rounding the home bend until leaving the 300m. Leaving the 150m, FERVENT PRINCE (GB) (C Sandoval) veered inwards abruptly. Jockey W Smith advised the Stewards that immediately after jumping, he felt that FANTASTIC DUBAI (USA) had locked up in its left hind and as a consequence he elected not to push the horse and the horse took no part in the race. A post-race veterinary examination of FANTASTIC DUBAI (USA) revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr M Al Muhairi was advised that FANTASTIC DUBAI (USA) would be required to complete a satisfactory jump out in the presence of the Stewards prior to being entered to race again.
