AFDAL THANI (AE) (A Murgia) was slow to begin. Near the 1400m, RICARDO (AE) (W Walter) made contact with the running rail and lost its racing position. On enquiry, it was established that at this point, MA TAHAB II (AE) (G Avranche) was racing directly to the outside of RICARDO (AE). Racing further to the outside was BARRAH (AE) (R Mullen), RS SANJAR (AE) (S Al Reffai) and AF MURSID (AE) (T O’Shea). After reviewing the films and considering the evidence of the jockeys, the Stewards established that there was slight movement between RS SANJAR (AE) and BARRAH (AE), which resulted in BARRAH (AE) shifting in slightly onto MA TAHAB II (AE), which in turn shifted in and bumped RICARDO (AE) onto the rail. The Stewards could not attribute blame for this incident to any one rider and took no further action. At the 300m, RS SANJAR (AE) (S Al Reffai) was taken to the outside of BARRAH (AE) (R Mullen) to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped heavily with HAYZ (AE) (R Ffrench), causing that horse to become unbalanced. On enquiry, S Al Reffai (RS SANJAR [AE]) was severely reprimanded and advised that he must ensure that he has clear running when he shifts ground in future.

NEFERMAN (FR) (G Avranche) reared on jumping. SAHIB DU CLOS (FR) (R Ffrench) was slow into stride. SAMIRA DE CARRERE (FR) (J Rosales) jumped out at the start. FORGEHILL CEZZAINE (FR) (D O’Donohoe) was inclined to over-race in the early stages and near the 1400m made contact with QUITE A SHOW (US) (R Hills), which caused that horse to race keenly for a short distance. RAEAA W’RSAN (AE) (R Mullen) was held up for clear running rounding the home turn and then near the 300m had to be restrained when BERWAAZ (AE) (X Ziani) shifted in away from QUITE A SHOW (US), which had shifted in to obtain clear running to the inside of FORGEHILL CEZZAINE (FR). On enquiry, it was established that whilst BERWAAZ (AE) had shifted in away from QUITE A SHOW (US), it was the initial inward movement from QUITE A SHOW (US) that had caused this incident. The Stewards reprimanded R Hills (QUITE A SHOW [US]) and advised that he must ensure that he is clear of runners when shifting ground in future. DAHDAH (AE) (A Murgia) ran out over the concluding 100m.
