BETTER MIX (USA) (P Dobbs) commenced awkwardly and shifted outwards onto JUMHOOR (IRE) (A Ajtebi) with that horse then shifting out onto FIGHT (USA) (R Mullen) which had to be steadied. DREADLOCK (ARG) hung outwards making the turn into the 1400m. SECOND NATURE (USA) (W Rafiq) was steadied passing the 1400m and then raced wide for the remainder of the race. CONVEX (USA) (C Kerton) raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination of STORYVILLE (GB) (W Smith) revealed the gelding to be lame in the left hind. Trainer Mr D Watson was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to be entered to race again.

PIPOLDCHAP (CHI) (E Cruz) was difficult to load. Trainer Mr F Castro was advised that the gelding would be required to complete 2 satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. DOCTOR HILARY (GB) (T Durcan) and ROCKETS 'N ROLLERS (IRE) (W Supple) bumped on jumping. GOLDEN ACER (IRE) (P Dobbs) commenced awkwardly. PIPOLDCHAP (CHI) shifted inwards at the start, at the same time NORTHERN ROCK (JPN) (R Mullen) shifted outwards, this caused MANDOBI (IRE) (R Cleary) to be crowded and lose ground. Shortly after the start, JUNCTION LINE (GB) (W Smith) bumped the hind quarters of NORTHERN ROCK (JPN). SALAAM DUBAI (AUS) (D Badel) and JUNCTION LINE (GB) bumped on the line. Jockey W Smith was found guilty to a charge under ERA Instruction 8 (ii) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner on JUNCTION LINE (GB) and was subsequently suspended for 2 days (Nad Al Sheba 11th January, 2007 and Sharjah 12 January, 2007) and fined AED 2000. NORTHERN ROCK (JPN) (R Mullen) returned having twisted its right fore plate. MANDOBI (IRE) returned having lost its right fore plate.

Running to the 900m, CAVALARRA (GB) and RISING TIDE (AUS) bumped. Shortly after this, RISING TIDE (AUS) shifted inwards causing DILLAGI (USA) (R Cleary) to be steadied off the heels of SECRET PLACE (GB) (D Hayse) when that gelding had rolled outwards slightly. Jockey R Ffrench (OUTPOKER [USA]) dropped his whip near the 200m. A post race veterinary inspection of RISING TIDE (AUS) revealed no abnormalities.
