Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) Horses in Training Sale to be staged this Wednesday

The 2010 Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) Horses in Training Sale, to be staged at Meydan Racecourse at 5pm on Wednesday March 10th, has received in excess of 80 entries with several Dubai International Racing Carnival performers among them.

With a nice balance of Carnival and 'domestic' season horses, there should be something to appeal to all, whatever the budget as racing in the UAE gears up for a first full season at Meydan.

With interest in the Emirates guaranteed to be supplemented by buyers from Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, interest should be high and with drafts from the like of South African Mike De Kock, some interesting horses are on offer. Silver Mist, winner of the Group 3 Al Rashidiya in 2009, is sure to be popular from the De Kock offering, while Doug Watson has the largest local draft.

Erwan Charpy has some highly-rated horses among the entries including Blackat Blackitten who was second in the Burj Nahaar in 2008.

Evaluating the entry, ERA Steward Gerard Bush said: "There is a nice balance among the horses on offer and plenty to appeal to the domestic market, as well as Carnival-rated horses to appeal to all.
"We have seen in the past that bargains can be found at the sale – just look at the exploits of Conroy in the past for instance."

A cheap buy, Conroy was to win on Super Thursday, the Jebel Ali Sprint and to be placed in the Golden Shaheen on Dubai World Cup night.
