Derrinstown sponsors showpiece Super Thursday card

Dubai, UAE, 2 March 2010 – The Derrinstown Stud-sponsored Super Thursday racecard, highly regarded as the most important meeting outside of the Dubai World Cup, is set to take place this Thursday.

The meeting kicks off the final weekend of racing of the Dubai International Racing Carnival, and is highlighted by seven feature races: the 2000m Group 2 Al Maktoum Challenge Round III and Listed Al Bastakiya, the 1600m Group 3 Burj Nahaar and 1200m Group 3 Mahaab Al Shimaal, along with the 2000m third round of the Group 1 Al Maktoum Challenge for Purebred Arabians, all run on the All Weather surface.

The 2485m Group 2 Dubai City of Gold and 1800m Group 2 Jebel Hatta will be contested on the turf course.

Super Thursday's racemeeting will also be capped off by a post-race concert by international recording artiste Sting, who will be performing live from 11p.m at Meydan.

Entrance to the public areas of Meydan Racecourse is free of charge and there are also complimentary transfers at the end of the night from Meydan Racecourse to Emirates Towers and Souk Madinat.

The Dubai Transport Company Operates a taxi service from Meydan with the taxi drop-off and pick up point located outside the Meydan Grandstand.
