Chairman His Excellency Sheikh Abdulla bin Majid Al Qasimi
Originally costructed in 1982 under the supervision of His Excellency Sheikh Abdulla bin Majid Al Qasimi. The first race took place in 1983. Following instructions by the ruler of Sharjah His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a programme to renovate the track began in 1995 and has recently been completed. This has included the construction of a new grandstand and the redesigning of the racetrack.
Left handed dirt/sand track of 1600 metres with a 1200 metre straight.
Entrance to the racecourse is free.
Casual
There are usually 6 races held per afternoon, each at 30 minutes intervals. The first race normally takes place at 2.30 pm.
Soft drinks and light snacks are available.
